The Common Method of Controlling Temperature and Humidity in Museum Display Cases

The common method of controlling temperature and humidity in museum display cases

1) Macro system control: mainly rely on the central air conditioning system to control the temperature and humidity of the museum. However, because the central air conditioning control scope is relatively large, affected by the exhibition hall environment, visitor flow, and the external atmospheric environment, it is often difficult to achieve the control of the internal temperature and humidity of the showcase, so as far as possible to make the temperature of the central air conditioning at about 20℃, auxiliary further micro-environment control.

2) Microenvironment control: The microenvironment in museum display cases directly affects the life of museum exhibits. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the airtightness of the museum showcase, because a well-sealed museum showcase can provide a relatively stable temperature and humidity condition for the preservation of cultural relics. Therefore, some measures should be taken to achieve the sealing effect, some special museum display cases can be sealed with anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion self-sealing belt, this kind of self-sealing belt can not only seal the display case, but also remove harmful gas; Secondly, in the exhibition cases of important collections, add some humidifier to control humidity or install humidity system. When the humidity exceeds the required range, the humidity controller can automatically open the dehumidifier to reduce humidity and display an alarm signal at the same time.

3) Independent control of important exhibits: Because different kinds of cultural relics have different requirements for temperature and humidity, some important cultural relics should be controlled separately. An independent constant temperature and humidity system should be installed in the museum display cases to set the temperature and humidity range of such cultural relics, so as to ensure a better preservation environment.
